About this Hybrid Strain
The Yeti OG cannabis strain is classified as an indica-dominant hybrid. It has roots that trace back to Loompa Farms in the Humboldt County region of Northern California. While originally called Headband BX, it was later changed to Yeti OG because of its towering height, much like the mythological creature itself.
The Yeti OG strain was made by crossing OG Kush with Sour Diesel. Yeti OG THC levels average at 20% and its CBD levels are higher than average, resting at 3%.
The buds of Yeti OG have long wavy leaves that are beige, caramel, and army green in color. This is in large part due to its amber coat of trichomes. Small clusters of fuzzy orange pistils can be seen scattered throughout its buds.
Yeti OG possesses a lemon citrus odor with hints of old cheese. Smoking this strain unleashes a nutty flavor and sour cheese aftertaste.
Don’t be tricked by Yeti OG. A full ten minutes after smoking or vaping it, reviewers expressed how its effects were hardly noticeable. Five minutes deeper, a new world of ecstatic bliss opened up. Thoughts and ideas flowed freely. A sense of peace and complete relaxation of the muscles was then noted by users. Chronic pain and inflammation seemed to dissipate for them. This left a lighter and free feeling in both the mind and body.

The White Yeti is a great cross, between The White and Yeti OG, that is also referred to as Abominable Snowman. In Tibetan the word Yeti means “magical creature” and truly it is a seemingly supernatural enigma in the shape of a hairy, biped creature that resembles a giant ape.
The colorful and comical White Yeti strain art from Dima was a great early addition to our Califari Strain Art series back in 2016. Dimitri Drjuchin is an artist/musician who was born in Moscow, but grew up making images and sounds in New York City.
“My work channels different points of reference from my Russian background, to pop culture, to comic books, to fine art, to spirituality, to the occult. I can’t truly say that it’s a commentary on anything, because I am not interested in judging anyone or any thing. I believe it’s more of a reflection of multiple influences that get filtered through my mind and come back out all at once on my canvas redefined to my own liking. That said, I also try not to take anything too seriously and on some level I believe I still paint in a similar mind set I did as a child scribbling on a piece of paper. Most of my ideas are on the spot and I let how I’m feeling at that moment guide me to what happens next in the piece. I think ultimately I’m just trying to entertain myself.” – Dima
The White Yeti cannabis strain was an F1 breeding project by Loompa Farms, who is a passionate grower nestled away in the Northern Hills of California. The creation of this strain is from the clone only Miami White (Krome’s spectacular cut of “The White” renamed). Miami White was hit with pollen from Loompa Farms Yeti OG male. The Yeti OG line was formally known as Headband BX. In certain areas, Loompa’s Headband is well known for being legendary dank.
Yeti OG was bred by NorCal collective Loompa Farms and has become a highly sought after strain due to its incredible taste and heavy yields. This Indica dominant strain is a very good choice for relaxation and pain relief because of it’s high THC content. Featuring a rich, creamy-tasting smoke with strong undertones of diesel fuel and hints of lemon and pine, Yeti OG is a favorite with connoisseurs of flavorful cannabis.
The prevailing wisdom at Califari says that not all strains can be found all the time. Some of the greatest strains come and go. At times the plant can be unpredictable and full of surprises, just like that old Abominable Snowman traipsing through the deep woods, somewhere in the snowy foothills on a cold winter’s day.
