Scotts Turf Builder Kentucky Bluegrass Mix

1. PREP
Rake area to loosen the top layer of soil and remove dead grass. For best results, add a thin layer of Scotts Turf Builder LawnSoil before applying seed.

2. APPLY
Apply using a Scotts spreader. Lightly rake the seed into the soil. For best results, apply Scotts Turf Builder Starter Plant Food for New Grass.

3. WATER
Watering is a critical step to seeding success. Water daily or as needed to keep the soil surface moist until the seedlings reach at least 2 inches tall.

4. CARE
Seed will begin to grow in 7-14 days. You can mow the seedlings when they reach 3 inches in height. Do not apply a weed control product until after at least four mowings.

When to Apply
Fall and spring are the best times to plant grass seed, because seed germinates best when temperatures are between 60°F and 80°F

Where to Use
Performs well under high traffic, moderate shade, and sunny areas.

3lb: up to 2,000 sq. ft for reseeding and 1,000 for new lawn coverage
7lb: up to 4,725 sq. ft. for reseeding and 2,331 for new lawn coverage

HOW IT WORKS

  • Scotts Lawn Builder™ Seed & Feed works by delivering a blend of lawn seeds and lawn starter fertiliser that is easy to apply and care for during the first few weeks until established

HOW TO USE

For a new lawn

  1. Turn over the top 10cm of soil and break up clods to produce a fine, weed-free surface
  2. For best results, apply a 3cm layer of Scotts Lawn Builder™ Topdress Mix and rake over again
  3. Determine the size of your area in square metres by multiplying the length by the width. (1 large stride = 1 metre approx)
  4. Shake the box well and apply approximately 4 handfuls (65g/m 2 ) by moving backwards as you scatter the seed
  5. Ensure the seed is evenly dispersed and lightly rake over
  6. Deeply water the area using a soft spray and keep the area evenly moist until the seedlings reach 5-8cm tall
  7. First mow when seedlings reach 8-10cm tall
  8. After 3 months, fertilise the whole lawn with Scotts Lawn Builder™ All Purpose Slow Release Lawn Fertiliser

Oversowing

  1. Closely mow the existing lawn
  2. Shake the box well before use and apply approximately 2 handfuls (33g) of the product per square metre by moving backwards as you scatter the seed
  3. Try to ensure the seed is evenly dispersed
  4. Deeply water the area using a soft spray and keep the area evenly moist during the first 2-3 weeks
  5. After 3 months, fertilise the whole lawn with Scotts Lawn Builder™ All Purpose Slow Release Lawn Fertiliser
