About this Hybrid Strain

Dave Bowman aka “Subcool” died on Feb 1 of 2020, but his spirit lives on through his line of cannabis strains known as “The Dank.” The Dank are strains that are extremely potent, with high THC percentages, and all pack an amazing fruit flavor. Ripped Bubba is one of those strains.

It was created by crossing Pre-98 Bubba Kush with Jack the Ripper. Ripped Bubba buds are made up of chiseled and compact lime-green leaves. Orange pistils run through the buds like veins. A heavy coat of sticky trichomes coats the outside, giving it specks of white and patches of amber in areas of higher concentrations. In fact, Subcool went with the name “Ripped Bubba” because the buds were reminiscent of a chiseled bodybuilder, complete with pistil veins and trichome striations.

This indica-dominant powerhouse routinely tests over 25%, and has a thick musky scent reminiscent of wet-soil, with sweet hints of citrus fruits and berries. Smoking or vaping Ripped Bubba makes a rainbow of fruit flavors explode in the mouth, strangely similar to eating sweet and sour fruit candies. The delicious, sour fruit flavor lingers as a delightful aftertaste.

Despite being slightly indica-dominant, Ripped Bubba reportedly allows energy to slowly crescendo and level off into a clear and focused state of bliss. Having something to get done helps, as users report being motivated, while simultaneously feeling stress and worry dissolve. This effect on the ability to focus and mood may benefit users with anxiety, depression, and ADHD, according to some. In this euphoric state, users report being able to tap into creativity, making this an excellent strain to use when brainstorming for fresh ideas. On the other hand, some say it can be the perfect companion to just listening to some music and getting some menial chores done. Senses, as well as the mind-muscle connection, reportedly feel enhanced, making this versatile strain great for nearly any occasion. As the cerebral euphoria wanes, the body reportedly stays surprisingly nimble, showing the lasting power of the dominant terpenes Limonene, Alpha-Farnesene, and Beta-Farnesene.
